Georgia’s society remembers me making a number of statements about the Sochi Olympics and speaking against sending there our sportsmen and official delegation. Also, more than 28 thousand people signed the petition during the October campaign to boycott Sochi Olympics. Today, I would like to address our people once again: Unfortunately, the passive position of our Government provides that Russian-held Olympic Games will be sold in Russia as Putin’s unconditioned victory and will further legitimize the aggressor while increasing the danger to our European future. It must be believed that from March, Putin will launch increasing pressure on Georgia to force our government to leave European integration plans and become Russia’s backyard again. We see the officials of seven European countries boycotting the Sochi Olympics, but nobody mentions Georgia’s occupation by Russia among the reasons. The voice of Georgia has been muted!
