I would rather stress differences than similarities. The political body that interchanged the government in 2003 possessed major political and administrative resources country-wide what brought them more smoothly to the government. It was easier for them to force Shevardnadze to resign than it is for current opposition. Political crisis was first of all grounded by the government’s improvident policies; its mistakes, falsified elections, continuous disregard to public opinion, and of course by the August war. These are the major reasons that brought state to the current situation. On the other hand, opposition is driven by certain politicians with the weak sense of political responsibility, who do not offer alternatives to the public, but rather manipulate their protest and dissatisfaction.
